Last year, I found out that our rental property has a few complications that I hadn’t planned on with mold being the biggest issue. The only way to repair it was to improve the air quality. How was I to do that without central air conditioning or the ability to fix the property? After a week of research & product reviews, I found the answer in an air cleaner. The first step to picking the right one is figuring out your square footage, then you don’t need to measure your whole apartment, just measure the largest room, then air purifiers are rather light weight, despite their size, so you can move it from a single room to the next! I measured our main living space, & sized our media air cleaner accordingly. The model I chose is a fairly tall tower media air cleaner with a 3 section filtering system. This state of the art media air cleaner uses a charcoal pre filter to trap big particulates, a HEPA filter–which is the only kind that can option up mold spores–and finally a UV light. The UV light can work to kill bacteria on a microscopic level. The charcoal filter may sound useless, however it does help the HEPA air filter to last even longer. I prefer to leave it in our kitchen at night turned on, so it can take all the time it needs to sanitize our cooking space while I sleep. Thanks to our media air cleaner, our apartment is mold free & I’m breathing better than ever.
