My Mom had a saying that he adopted from a popular song: “If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.” In other words, if you’re someone who doesn’t learn from observation, you’ll honestly have to be strenuous enough to take the pain that comes with first-hand experience. To put it nicely, my brother is a single of the toughest people I know! While I knew that putting my hand in a tepid pan on the stove was a excruciating idea, my brother had to feel the pain to understand why it was such a excruciating idea! This trait carried over well into our adulthood too, as my brother would make excruciating decisions that caused personal injury multiple times. One such opportunity came when my brother tried to refill the refrigerant for his outdoor a/c unit! Just to be clear, only a licensed heating, ventilation plus a/c repair corporation has permission on a federal level to handle refrigerant for an a/c unit. My brother is honestly not a licensed Heating, Ventilation and A/C corporation, but that didn’t stop him! He told myself and others about this incident, where he took refrigerant intended for use in a vehicle’s air conditioner plan – plus attempted to recharge his outdoor air conditioner unit with it! While he successfully found the line for the refrigerant plus managed to get a can’s worth of coolant into the system, it wasn’t the regular formulation to be used in a home’s air conditioner system. That meant that he caused his entire air conditioner plan to become seriously damaged from the inside out, plus in turn he had to spend my money multiple thousand dollars for a brand modern outdoor air conditioner unit. Though he didn’t physically harm himself on this occasion, he honestly hurt his financial standing for the next year!
