I have finally become a grandmother for the first time! My daughter delivered twins about six months ago, and it is so exciting and wonderful to have children around again. I absolutely adore the new grandbabies, and I have decided that I am going to turn half of my garage into a playroom for the grandkids. I have a two-car garage, and I barely use one-half of the space, so I love the idea! I am going to fix it all up so it is extra nice and not at all like a garage. The first thing I need to do is figure out what I want to do about getting heating and cooling out there. I can’t have my grandbabies sweating or freezing while they are playing! So, tomorrow I have an appointment at an HVAC showroom to see what all my options are going to be. I am sure that I could just connect the current heating and cooling system to the garage by getting new ductwork and air vents, but I am not sure that is the best option. I understand HVAC technology has come quite a long way in recent years, so I am hoping the HVAC company will have some other choices for me. I want to know about mini split ductless air conditioners and even old fashioned window a/c units. Perhaps there are other types of air conditioners and heaters that I am not aware of, too. Whatever heating and cooling I get, it has to work well and be reasonably priced.
