The smoke detectors in my home are way too sensitive. They go off at least once a week for some reason or another. Whenever I cook, I have to open all the doors and windows and turn on the ceiling fan. Even this is not enough sometimes. It is annoying too because it is hot outside so it gets hot inside when I open the house all up. Additionally, the HVAC system has to work harder to cool the house back down again once cooking is done and the house is closed up again. I don’t want my smoke detectors to work less well, it is important that they alert me and my family if there is a fire, I wish they did not got off quite so often. I wonder if a filtration system would help solve this issue at all. My HVAC unit is right in the kitchen. I think that it pushes semi-smoky air throughout the entire house and this is what causes the detectors to go off. I am tired of my bedroom smelling like steak. I think I will get an HVAC worker to come out and give some estimates and possibilities for a filtration system that can hook directly up the the A/C vents. Then the we could keep the house cool while cooking and still not have the smoke detectors all going off. At least, I can dream that this will work, can’t I? I just don’t know what else to do.
