As I stand on the balcony of my hotel room, I can’t help but marvel at the sights around me. My husband and I finally booked a long overdue vacation to the tropics and watching the sunrise with my cup of coffee is just Heavenly. I can’t help but wonder how many people have done the exact same thing over the years. The hotel we are staying at was built in the late 50’s and if the walls could talk I am sure that there are many stories to tell. My husband, on the other hand sees things differently. When we arrived the first thing he noticed was the outdated heater that was in our room. Now, we are in the tropics, how often do you thing that the heat has ever been used. Still, he feels that the unit more than likely contains germs from all of those past vacationers. He says that the hotel should have changed out the old unit long ago. I mentioned that if the filter was changed on a regular basis that it should be fine but he just wouldn’t listen. He even went so far as to put a sheet over it and would not allow me to turn on the air conditioning for fear of spreading germs. The ocean breeze was great and we left the balcony doors open at night so it was lovely anyway. I tend to have a more romantic view of the world around me and I like it that way. My husband seems to be more practical and looks to see what should be upgraded or changed to a more modern way of things.
