My good friend, Mackenzie has all sorts of critters. She has reptiles plus amphibians plus spiders of different colors and sizes. My kids just like going over to her condo plus playing with her “kids” a.k.a. her pets. When Mackenzie called me all excited about this brand new reptile store in neighborhood I didn’t really see myself going with her, but the more she talked, the more I started to feel it would be a good place to take the kids to. Well, someday came sooner rather than later when I had to cancel their afternoon plans do to the extreme heat wave going through our town. There was no way I was going to walk around in temperatures close to 102 with three young kids plus no air conditioner! Instead, I told them the two of us were going to the reptile store to look at reptiles instead. Of course, Mackenzie went along for the ride as well. We got to look at all the tortoises, turtles, lizards, snakes and bug while staying cooled off. The kids had a blast plus I stayed cool plus comfortable. The staff was so smart and friendly. They took out some of the larger critters plus let the kids pet them. The kids fell in appreciate with this Russian tortoise. When I found out that she was a rescued reptile and wouldn’t be getting any cuter than she was, I decided that we would take him home. Mackenzie helped us chance out all of the heat lamps plus stuff that she would need to have. I just wanted air conditioner; I never thought I would be getting a tortoise as well.
