Christmas is right around the corner

I walked outside this morning and I just about shivered.

  • The air felt like fall and even the leaves had a tinge of yellow to them.

I was standing there wondering what happened to summer when my husband came out and handed me a cup of coffee. He told me I had left the door open and the heat was heading outside. I didn’t even realize the furnace had turned on. I thought it was warm in the house because it was warm outside. I shivered a bit as I walked into the house and I stood there for a moment. He asked me what I was thinking about and I told he couldn’t laugh. I told him it felt like Christmas is right around the corner. He laughed even though I told him not to. He told me Christmas was still almost three months away. I knew that meant I had a lot to do. We still needed to get the chimney cleaned so we could use the fireplace. I didn’t think he had the furnace serviced yet and it was already running. I made a list to call the chimney sweep and the HVAc company. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do before we needed to have the furnace running all the time. He laughed and told me to let summer end before I worried about winter. It felt like it was already fall outside. The frigid feel of the forty degree air was enough to get me into winter mode already. As much as I’m not ready for it, I still have to consider what needs to be done before winter rears its ugly head
