Cleaning out the dryer vent

I live in a very small apartment. I don’t mind the size of it though because it has everything I need. There is plenty of storage throughout the apartment. It also has tons of new appliances and beautiful hardwood floors. I also have a gorgeous view of the ocean from my bedroom window. Perhaps the best part of the apartment is that I have a washer and dryer right in my apartment. I feel lucky to have this because most people do not have the luxury of being able to wash their clothes in their apartment. Most people have to go into the basements or to laundry stores. The only downfall of this is that the dryer heats up my small apartment rather quickly. It makes me crazy sometimes. When the dryer has been running for an hour, it gets so hot that I open up the windows in the wintertime. When I am preparing to use the dryer, I turn off the heating system completely. I also open up some windows. I have complained to the landlord about this before, but he said that it is because of poor ventilation. My apartment wasn’t built with good ventilation. He said my only option would be to remove the washer and dryer completely. I don’t want to give this up, so I just push through. I try to time my laundry for when I am leaving for work. I turn my dryer on when I am running out the door. This way, by the time I return home, my laundry is done and my apartment has returned to a cool temperature.
