Right now I’m sitting in the doctor’s office waiting to have my yearly physical done. I hate coming to have this done! It feels so invasive. I hate having hands and instruments all over me. It makes me feel like I’m a science experiment or something. To top it all off, today, the office is having some kind of issue with their HVAC system. When I walked in the door this morning, I saw a heating and air conditioning technician walking down the hallway with a box of tools in his hand, so I knew that something was up with their HVAC units. Well, when I got into the examination room, I realized that the problem was the air conditioning. At first, the room was really stuffy and stagnante feeling. There was no air coming through any of the air ducts or the ventilation ducts. I just assumed that the A/C was broken, and that’s why the HVAC tech was there. But then, all of a sudden, the air conditioning kicked on and roared to life. Freezing cold air started pouring out of the air ducts on the ceiling, and freezing cold air started cooling the tiny examination room off almost immediately. As a matter of fact, since I was sitting there in my paper gown waiting for the doctor, I thought I was going to freeze to death! It went from feeling like the A/C was broken and not working to feeling like the A/C was going to turn the exam room into a deep freeze! I hope the HVAC technician gets everything fixed soon. I think maybe they’re trying to guarantee job security at the doctor’s office, though, because the on again/off again A/C is going to make everyone sick if they weren’t already!
