I spent a fortune having a bookcase custom made for our home… My office is absolutely tighthowever taller than most rooms in the house, and i had a custom furniture store make the bookcase the perfect size for the office plus all out of hard oak, but the glass was strategically locationd in the case to show the front, side plus a portion of the back of the book.
It is the coolest thing I have ever owned before.
I got to like it for around 3 months before I ruined it. The easy reason is that our Heating and Air Conditioning component was not set constantly. I never considered how air quality can affect wood, and apparently if the air quality is too dry, wood can split. If the air quality is too moist, the wood will swell plus warp! Well, our climate never gets all that warm, I don’t even bother with AC. When summer time came around, I just let our bookcase get super hot. The moisture from outside got into our new home plus our indoor air conditions got particularly moist; Not only did mold form along the wood plus around the glass, however the wood warped. The bookcase now is slightly off. It is no longer perfectly wedged into our office, however at an angle. It also looks like it is going to fall over. I spent a fortune on the it plus it looks terrible. All of this is because I don’t own A/C or a dehumidifier, and either of those Heating and Air Conditioning pieces would have saved our wood case. It is too late now though.
