From seasickness to marriage

A couple of years ago, I was on the cruise to end all cruises.  I was not only so seasick that they put me off the ship, but the HVAC was broken and it made the seasickness even worse.  After three days of vomiting, even my best friend wanted nothing to do with me. The steward on the ship came up to see if I was okay, and I vomited on his shoes and pants.  I began to shiver uncontrollably and I went into shock. That was when they put me off the ship. I had finally arrived back home and I was thrilled to know that I didn’t have to worry about being seasick, but I didn’t need to worry about the lack of air conditioning.  It was blustery and snowing the day we got home, and I could hear my furnace running. I was finally up to being myself when I had a knock on my door. I barely recognized the ship’s steward without vomit on him. He gave me complimentary tickets for another cruise. I asked him why they didn’t send them and he told me he wanted to give me the bill for the dry cleaning, and then he smiled.  It turned out that he was the one who fixed the air conditioning in the cabin, after I was evicted. He had gone to HVAC school and he realized the problem. After chatting for an hour, he invited me out to dinner. Who would have thought that two years later, he would no longer be working on a cruise ship. He got his certification in HVAC repair, and he and I are now married and living in the Northeastern part of the country.
