I always commute to work every single afternoon, and using a bluetooth beatbox with my iPhone connected makes it easier. Some afternoons I stream full albums of music during the trips while other afternoons I might listen to a podcast or an audio book. Unfortunately, Last week my iPhone died, as well as, now I have to wait to wait on a new 1. Now I am forced to go back to listening to old fashioned FM radio on my way to task in the afternoons. Although I’m used to the ads you hear on streaming websites, it was an interesting experience going back to hearing FM ads again. At least the 1’s I hear on youtube are quick, even if they’re very annoying. Although, on old radio, you’re forced to hear up to 10 minutes of severely annoying ads every multiple songs. The worst ads are the 1’s for automobile dealerships though, which regularly involve a man shouting out the script at breakneck speed. The other afternoon, I heard an ad for a Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C corporation that absolutely saved myself and others from a potential nightmare on home repairs. Although there was an obnoxious calling that kept pushing my attention away from the ad, I kept hearing the man say on repeat, “check your air filter, check your air filter, CHECK YOUR air FILTER.” After a few rounds something in my head clicked as well as I realized that I was a week behind on checking my air filter in my air handler at my house. When I finally pulled the filter tray out later that night, I was very stunned by the level of dust as well as build up inside. I threw in the new filter I purchased on the way home as well as turned my system back on. The air stream coming from the vents felt even stronger as well as I noticed that my machine was cycling a little less than it was a week prior from when the filter was still clogged. I find it peculiar that it took a random FM radio commercial to remind myself, along with others, to replace my filter as well as save my system from malfunction, however I’ll take it.
