When my son got his own condo I worried a lot about a lot of things. Apparently I wasn’t worrying about the right things, though! I always thought that he knew that the condo manager was responsible for all of the repairs. I didn’t know why he asked me how to change the air filter on his Heating, Ventilation and A/C system, as that is usually the responsibility of the renters, however, the following day he called back and told me that decreasing the filter didn’t repair the problem. He said his a/c still wouldn’t turn on. He asked what Heating, Ventilation and A/C repair business I usually use so that he can have them come out and take a look at his Heating, Ventilation and A/C system too. And there was so much wrong with his statement that I wasn’t sure where to start with it. First of all, replacing a filter will not ever repair an A/C to begin with. Also, he needs to call his landlord and his landlord needs to call out an Heating, Ventilation and A/C business to come check things out. I explained all of this to my son and he said he was just afraid that his landlord would think that he was the one who broke the a/c. Finally, I was able to convince my boy to call his landlord and get his A/C fixed. It is unlikely that my son was the one who broke the system. But he clearly has a lot to learn about being an adult. I suppose I did too at that age, too, though. Wisdom will come with time. I just hope the A/C gets fixed soon for his sake and that there’s no drama with the landlord. I’ll call up the landlord myself if I have to. Wow, it is difficult letting your kids grow up.
