I didn’t know that tree roots could mess up your HVAC system

I can’t figure out why the coldest room in our beach house is the lavatory; every time the air conditioner is on, the lavatory is extra cold! It’s not fun to get out of the shower & get hit by a blast of cold chilly air, either. The temperature is unusual in the rest of the house, too, because some rooms are much warmer than others. I have tried to ignore the A/C problem for several years. But the A/C issue has been around for a long time. Recently, though, the air conditioner has stopped blowing in the living room at all, but finally, I decided to call for an air conditioner service tech to come to the house. The air conditioner dealer looked over our air conditioning system then they went under our beach house & looked at the air ducts. The air conditioner specialist explained to us that tree roots had gotten into the air ducts & that it was messing up the air flow throughout the whole house. I guess the lavatory is the first place that the air duct reaches. That’s why the lavatory is regularly so cold. On the other hand, our living room is quite sealed off from getting any chilly air in it at all. The specialists repaired & replaced all of our duct work for us. It cost me and my husband lots of money & it took them several hours to fix it. But now, our whole beach house is cool & comfortable again. The lavatory is no longer too cold, either. I assume I shall have to have the oak tree cut down that is causing all of the trouble. I don’t want it to get into the duct work again. I can only imagine how much it’s damaging our plumbing too. That will be another expense some day soon.
