This year marks the eighteenth year that the people I was with and I have been in our home, so as most homes do, eventually things start to wear out, usually this happens at the most inopportune time, and often with little or no notice. For instance, last year the people I was with and I had to replace our refrigerator because the freezer side of it quit working, naturally, it quit working while the people I was with and I were at job so the people I was with and I came house to all sorts of thawed and dripping things in there. The year before that, the microwave and range hood stopped working at the same time and had to be replaced. This year, our air conditioning component provided up the ghost. Thankfully it happened during the Spring so the weather was nice outside. It also went against the respected tradition of bad timing and occurred while the local Heating and A/C service and service business was having an inventory and inspection sale. Every one of us called them up and the next afternoon the Heating and AC serviceman was out to look at our system. The compressor it seems, had seized up and fried itself internally. Every one of us ended up having to buy a whole new unit, so the people I was with and I decided to replace the handler and gas furnace component as well. With the amount the people I was with and I saved during their sale, it still ended up being less than if the people I was with and I had just bought the compressor at regular price. The afternoon after the Heating and AC serviceman came out, they delivered the new component and had it installed in less than more than one hours after they got there. I am thankful that this happened during that sale, because now the people I was with and I are back to a nice cool house.
