After an entire year of working my butt as an Heating and A/C serviceman, I finally got a raise. When I started here, working at the company, I was certainly an apprentice. I didn’t get paid at all during the first few months, then finally started getting paid the minimum wage after that for a while. Now, I can finally say I am making more than the national minimum wage. I am an Heating and A/C maintenance serviceman by trade, plus I usually work on heat pumps, but I’m trying to learn a few other nifty Heating and A/C skills. I certainly was thinking of moving to a large company for myself soon because I want to learn more skills. I also heard that once you have more experience, the large companies pay a lot better. I really do like our old boss here, plus I like working on heat pumps, although I am honestly starting to get bored. I also need to start making more and more money soon because rents are going up in our town plus I can already barely keep up with the bills. My boss consistently mentions how she has incredibly high hopes for me plus that she wants me to be employed at her company for a very long time. Now that I finally got a raise, I started to feel pretty terrible for thinking about working at a unusual Heating and A/C company so very soon. However, I really want to be able to transfer up fast in our job plus her HVAC company is really too small to do that. Whatever happens, at least I’m no longer making minimum wage!
