I knew that was my responsibility

I am totally not up with the times, as I have an ancient flip phone, a huge desktop computer, and my thermostat is an old style dial thermostat from the mid 70s. I appreciate my older technology though. It lasts forever and regularly runs efficiently, but my daughter is trying to convince me to upgrade my old phone and thermostat. She wants me to trade in my old flip phone for a newfangled smartphone. I suppose I am not quite smart enough to handle that new style phone. I like my phone’s little keyboard and option to just shut the darn thing if I don’t understand it. My daughter also wants my old dial thermostat to be updated to a smart thermostat. Apparently, the modern phone and modern thermostat will hook together… From a new smartphone, I should be able control the thermostat. I can turn on or off the heating, control the air conditioning and set the fan speed on the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C. My daughter also told me that I can set times that the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C comes on and turns off. I even can get text alerts on what are efficient temperature settings, humidity levels or if the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C requires an air filter change. My daughter is so excited, but I am not going to do this, no way. I told her my dial thermostat works fine. I control the thermostat easily when I am in the house, and I don’t need to remotely turn it off when I leave. I care nothing about humidity levels and I remember to change the air filter monthly. I don’t need a smart thermostat to learn Heating, Ventilation plus A/C behaviors either. I am a easy to please when it comes to temperature conditions control.
