My house has not been the most comfortable place as of late. As busy as I was this past spring at work, I had failed to get my HVAC system checked in preparation for the summer months. I will admit that it did not entirely slip my mind, I simply felt that I was too busy to address it, and I hoped that last year’s HVAC maintenance would hold over through the summer. I was wrong. At the end of June my HVAC system went on the fritz and refused to work in any capacity. I have yet to muster the courage to call an HVAC technician to find out what the damage is and how much it would cost. I assume that it will not be an easy fix and it will cost me a pretty penny. As a result, I’ve chosen to go without HVAC for the time being. The hot and humid days and nights have been particularly brutal. As a result, I leave the house at every opportunity to find some venue or another that provides excellent air conditioning. I end up going to the mall to shop for things that I don’t need and end up buying movie tickets to movies I really don’t care about just to take advantage of the place’s excellent air conditioning. Considering all the money that I’m spending just to have an excuse to leave the house and find a good air conditioning in some place or another, I probably could have used that sizable chunk of money to at least partially pay for the damages to my air conditioning system!
