I love the convenience of living in the inner city. Everything that I need is right around the corner. I grew up as a country bumpkin. Every one of us lived so far out of neighborhood that it took almost an hour just to get to the grocery store. Every one of us took shopping trips every 6 weeks to buy clothes or other non-grocery items. As a child, I didn’t mind living so far out of town, but now that I have a family plus an outside job, I am easily ecstatic that I don’t live so far out of the city. Our greatest challenge about living in the city is the cost. Where the people I was with and I live, housing is simply outrageous, plus the people I was with and I are always looking for ways to save money. Something that has saved us a lot of money is simply turning off the air conditioning when the people I was with and I leave the house. My hubby plus I both task outside the home, plus all of our children are in university, so there is no need to have the air conditioning running all day long when no a single is home. Every one of us also started turning off the air conditioning at night while are sleeping, plus instead the people I was with and I just open the windows to stay cool. These 2 things have saved us more money than the people I was with and I ever thought they would. Now, the people I was with and I only use our air conditioning in the evenings plus on the weekends. Although air conditioning is certainly a blessing to have, it isn’t necessary to have it on 24/7. Saving money isn’t straight-forward, but straight-forward things care about this can make a huge difference.
