With summer arriving soon, I am finding my mind straying a lot. I am noticing that I am unable to focus on work, too. Honestly, I’m thinking it may be the weather. It is definitely getting warmer, so it could be a late onslaught of spring fever. My office is on the warm side, although it is only eighty degrees outside. I keep thinking about how great it would be to be outside. I need to finish my tasks for this week. Then I consider putting the cooling system on. Given how high the cost of energy has climbed, I am wondering if I can’t go without the cooling system all summer long. Sometimes I look at the stats on my energy carrier’s website, and it tells me that I’m not using that much extra energy during the summertime when compared to what I used in the dead of winter. My partner says I am just looking for a reason to not do my work, however I absolutely believe that my lack of concentration is happening due to the added heat, and how markedly drowsy it seems to be making me. I’m fairly sure that my lack of concentration has to do with the heat, so I purchased a small portable cooling system that I can run in my room. I am concerned with the energy cost of using our cooling system, of course, but I am more concerned with falling asleep and thus not completing my work. The cooling system appears to be my best option. I assume my partner is feeling the same way about the weather as he asked me just yesterday if I wanted him to put the cooling system on for me.
