There’s been a certainly weird odor coming through our heating vents at home lately, however i just observed it this past month; Every time I turned up the temperature control unit so that the oil furnace would turn on, this odor started wafting through the house.
It was this acrid, weird, smoky odor that I had never odored before.
I used our nose to try and track down where the odor was coming from. I finally made our way down to the basement, where I found the source of the odor in the oil furnace room, there was a weird odor coming from the electric oil furnace, along with some sort of smoke. I don’t mess around when it comes to electricity and smoke coming from our oil furnace unit! It scared myself and others so much that I unjammed the whole oil furnace and went straight back upstairs to call our local Heating and Air Conditioning contractor. I told them what was going on and how the oil furnace odored like it was burning. The Heating and Air Conditioning contractor who I spoke with on the PC told myself and others that I should leave the entire Heating and Air Conditioning unit unjammed until someone got there in an Heating and Air Conditioning truck with some tools they could service the oil furnace with, then he said that they could get someone there within the next more than seven hours or so, however when he finally got there, he went down to the oil furnace room and he had the electric oil furnace fixed within about half an hour. Ever since he fixed the oil furnace, I haven’t odored the weird odor at all anymore. Thank goodness they fixed it.
