I have realized a few helpful things about myself with the help of my therapist. I’m depressed plus traumatized, so my brain doesn’t necessarily work the right way all the time.. However, we’ve discovered that being outdoors is an immense help for my mental health. Something about being alone outside, surrounded by the appealing shades of green plus sounds of leaves rustling through the wind really grounds me. As such, my therapist encourages me to spend as much time communing with nature as possible.
That’s why we put nature first when we were looking for a beach house last year. When we found this sizable beach house with an enormous sunroom overlooking the woods, we knew it was the right choice. The thing is, we didn’t consider how that drafty room could increase our daily energy usage. You see, the room wowed us with more than two walls of windows, but we didn’t think about how drafty plus energy inefficient that section would be. Whenever we have the central heating or cooling plan running, there is a sizable amount of air going out to the sunroom air vents. The air goes out the sunroom windows, plus the oil furnace plus A/C component continually runs to keep up.
Our monthly energy bill has been caterpulting since we first moved in, and soon we’ll be out on the streets if we can’t handle our HVAC system. We’ve tried to seal off the room from our air ducts to spare the heating plus cooling systems from the extra stress. But I can’t manage even my own personal stress!
