By now, I am sure that everyone has heard of radiant radiant heated floors many times; Though the alternative heating option hasn’t exactly become a mainstream condo fixture, there have been plenty of efforts to advertise this great heating choice for a few years now… I know I’ve heard all about the benefits of having toasty warmth beneath your toes from the moment you wake up in the morning.
There is no limit to the luxurious ways radiant heated floors can benefit your life – whether you’re installing them right beneath your bed for a nice surprise in the morning, in your bathroom for after your shower, or even in your driveway to melt away snow every morning. In fact, with all these several possibilities plus uses throughout the house, the one thing I hadn’t ever heard of was radiant heated walls. I’m fairly certain that such a heating option doesn’t exist, though we almost had our entirely own DIY radiant heated walls in our condo just last week,.
You see, attic in this lake house has been neglected of maintenance for some time now. We did not know that the old insulation upstairs was wearing thin plus tearing down over time.. Apparently a family of raccoons knew all about the condition of our insulation, and decided to rearrange the heat trapping microfibers. However, when they did so, it created huge open pockets of space leading in between our walls. These were quickly filled with hot air from the pounding sunlight overhead. Because of the never ending summer sun, we had hot pockets in between our drywall, pumping radiant heat into every part of the house. Talk about luxury.
