Making sense of heating plus cooling terms

When our wife plus I started laboring on the plans to build a new house, both of us wanted to make sure both of us made smart decisions, however one of the largest debates was over how to handle heating plus cooling.

I spent hours researching the odd manufacturers plus styles of heating plus cooling equipment.

I l received that when it comes to temperature control options, there are lots of acronyms, plus it took myself and others a while to figure them all out. At times, these initials made things confusing. I’m rather embarrassed to admit that I wasn’t genuinely what Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C stands for. I now suppose that those initials represent Heating, Ventilation plus Air Conditioner plus covers everything from gas heating systems plus a/cs to heat pumps, boilers plus more, but mERV indicates the minimum efficiency value of the multiple air filters, plus the scale ranges from one to sixteen. One is the least efficient, plus the higher number means the filter has tinier holes to trap a greater number plus smaller particles. HSPF stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Fact plus represents the efficiency of electric heat pumps. However, the heat pump’s seasonal heating output is measured in BTU’s. This number is divided by the amount of energy it consumes in watt-hours to determine the HSPF, and sEER is used to indicate a/c efficiency plus stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. The higher the SEER rating, the less it’s going to cost to run the a/c! Currently, a/cs are required to achieve a minimum of 13 SEER plus there are models that offer up to 26 SEER. AFUE is the acronym for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency plus measures the thermal efficiency of gas heating systems plus water heaters.
