My friend Tom lives down south. So I don’t get to see Tom as much as I would like to. So when I can see him, I make the most of it. I take the kids and let them loose outside, and the adults stay inside, drinking wine and eating chips. Tom and I catch up on what is going on. We also tell stories about our childhood, just having a good time. Eventually the kids come back in, ready for food, so Tom and I order a few pizzas and set up some extra tables so everyone has room. When it gets to be night time though, Tom and I send the kids to bed and follow soon after. Each thing is quite pleasant during the time there, except for one thing. It’s just too hot! We’re used to temperate hot and cold temperatures, so going down south is not quite a normal thing for me. This wouldn’t be too much of a problem except that my friend Tom is quite used to the heat of the south. So, my buddy Tom doesn’t tend to turn on his cooling system nearly as often as I would like. Tom will leave windows open and ceiling fans running, and I would really like the cooling system to be on as well. There are times that I’ll sneak to the thermostat and set it at a cooler temperature, but it’s still too heated in there. Then I end up covered in sweat. There are days that I wonder whether Tom’s Heating, Ventilation plus A/C unit may not be respectfully working!
