Not able to turn the heater back on

Lately, the weather has been a little wishy washy. One day it’s super cold and snowy, and the next it’s about fifty degrees and sunny. I find it hard to adjust to the changing temperatures. In fact, I often get sick when the seasons are changing for this very reason. Apparently I am not the only one who has trouble adjusting. When the temperature shot up, everyone in the office was complaining that the heat was on too high. Even though it is the winter, it didn’t feel like winter. Unfortunately, our office’s heating and cooling is set based on season. We keep the heat running at a steady temperature for the entirety of the winter. However, enough people complained that our manager took it upon himself to try to switch up the settings. He eventually was able to turn the heat off. Within a few days, the weather was back to being cold and snowy, as it usually is this time of year. The only problem was that we were unable to turn the heat back on. We tried for hours and couldn’t figure it out. Our temperature controls were set by an HVAC technician for us, so we weren’t sure exactly how he did it. My manager hadn’t paid much attention to what he was doing when he got the heat turn off, so we didn’t know where to start. We eventually were forced to call the HVAC technician back up. He was not able to come in for a few hours. The office was freezing and everyone was miserable about it. Finally, the HVAC technician showed up and showed us how to adjust the temperature settings. He told us we shouldn’t disrupt the settings when we don’t have to. I don’t think anyone will again after this fiasco.
