Personal trainer helps with weight gain after menopause

I’ve never had to worry about my weight.

For my entire life, I’ve always been naturally thin.

While I tend to eat healthy, I’ve never denied myself a slice of cake or helping of ice cream when I wanted it. While I am an active person, I didn’t have a dedicated workout routine. It wasn’t until I was in my mid fifties that I started having concerns. When I went through menopause, I gained quite a bit of weight. I suddenly had some unattractive fat around my midsection. I made changes to my diet and started working out conscientiously every single day. I saw no improvement and got discouraged. I was worried that I would never lose the weight and need to buy myself a new wardrobe to accommodate it. Then a friend of mine suggested that I work with a personal trainer. She said that a personal trainer had made a huge difference in her weight, overall health and level of fitness. I called the trainer she recommended and met with him for a consultation. The guy was extremely knowledgeable. He and I discussed the impact and effects of menopause at length. He explained how the metabolism tends to slow down at this stage of life. He also warned that this is when many women tend to lose strength and balance and develop all sorts of health issues. He and I worked out a meal plan that includes a lot more vitamins, minerals and nutrients while trimming fat. We arranged a schedule to meet twice per week for 90 minute workout sessions. He also outlined a workout regimen for me to complete on my own. While the personal trainer challenged me, nothing was beyond my capability. I never got injured or considered giving up.
