For as long as I can remember, I have suffered with terrible seasonal allergies. Not only that, but I’m also allergic to cats and dogs. So for the past several years, I’ve been going to different allergy doctors and trying all kinds of different medications and even shots and experimental treatments. Some of the treatments helped and some of them didn’t. I didn’t know what else to do, but then a friend of mine mentioned that I should talk to my HVAC company. I thought this was a weird thing to suggest, but ended up calling my local heating and cooling company anyway. I talked to a really nice HVAC specialist on the phone and I told him what I was dealing with. He said that there are a lot of things that you can do to improve your indoor air quality and help with your allergies. The first thing that he suggested that I do was to get the air ducts and the air vents cleaned out. He made an appointment for me to have the HVAC company come out and do that for me. Then he suggested that we have some special anti-allergen air filters put in. He said that the anti-allergen air filters are super helpful in keeping dust, dirt, and pollen out of the house. He also discussed air purification systems with me and the HVAC technician who comes to clean the filters is going to give me an estimate on a good air purifier. I’m optimistic about how all of this can help me with my allergies!
