The manager had my back

In times like the ones we live in now it is such a rarity for people to stand up for what is right or wrong no matter what the scenario.

  • Over the past ten or twenty years there has been a shift from standing up for what is right, to just trying to go by the book.

Last week while I was out buying a brand new heating and cooling unit from my home I was reminded that there are still a few good ones out there that stand up for the important things even when nobody is forcing them. Last week while I was out at the local HVAC heating and cooling company looking to buy a new unit for my home I met a young gentleman that went on to convince me to buy what he claimed was one of the best a/c units on the planet. He even offered me a discount for twenty percent off which I perceived as pretty good. It was still an extremely expensive purchase however, and this “amazing” unit ended up breaking down after only a few weeks of having it. From a technical standpoint, I shouldn’t have gotten a refund. I had paid for the unit that didn’t have a refund policy, but after I told the HVAC manager what had gone down he instantly apologized and gave me a full refund. He felt terrible that his employee had exaggerated the HVAC unit to me and he would be having a talk with him later. 99 times out of 100 your average manager would have kept the money and told me to get lost so I sure do feel thankful to have crossed paths with this guy.
