The next time I get a current a/c I want a higher SEER rating

I had been using an old air cleaner in my room for the last several years.

  • Things didn’t start out so well as I forgot to upgrade the disposable filter inside the air cleaner for the first 2 years of use.

I’m surprised it didn’t fry the fan motor from having such a heavy restriction on air flow. Without wasting any time, I bought a current filter for the air cleaner. This helped with my air quality, although I kept finding a lot of dust on surfaces throughout my house. I called to have a heating & cooling specialist inspect my home’s temperature control equipment. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get my a/c, furnace, air cleaner, & HVAC duct checked by a professional. Surprisingly enough, my old air cleaner was still in wonderful shape after I diligently cleaned it out recently. Sadly, my a/c wasn’t in wonderful shape. The old equipment wasn’t cooling my air as efficiently any longer & it was leaking inside the HVAC duct. I don’t have the currency to buy a current central heating & cooling system, especially not current HVAC duct. If I get a current central a/c again, I’m going to get a equipment with a higher SEER rating so it’s more powerful & energy efficient at the same time. But I’m also considering other options. I could forgo getting another central a/c in favor of a small network of ductless mini splits. With these heating & cooling systems, there’s an individual device in each zone or room of your house. Zone controlled Heating & Air Conditioning is wonderful because there’s no leaky HVAC duct to worry about, & you can heat or cool each space depending on which parts of your home you use the most.
