There was no one; it was the oil furnace.
Me and my fiance are in a curious predicament right now. The two of us have been wanting to build a house ourselves for a long time now, plus both of us finally sold our first house in order to have enough money to start construction of our current one. The two of us are so very excited about this, until something happened that both of us did not expect. The two of us sold our first house before both of us realized the land that both of us want to build our current house on. The two of us decided that both of us would have to end up renting an apartment for a little while, but a neighbor of a neighbor heard about our situation plus provided us her cabin, and she lives down south all Winter long, so she has an empty cabin that she said both of us are welcome to use. The two of us took her up on her offer, plus both of us are now staying in her cabin. The two of us are so thankful to be able to stay rent free, so it makes residing in a particularly seasoned cabin worth it. The two of us have noticed some different things in the cabin though. The oil furnace downstairs in the basement makes some particularly odd and different noises, then at first, I thought that someone was down in our basement in the middle of the night, so I made my fiance take his gun plus go check. There was no one; it was the oil furnace. It makes sort of a banging noise. The two of us called the owner of the cabin, plus she said that it has consistently made that noise. The two of us asked her if she wanted us to call in a Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional to take a look at it, plus she said that it was probably not necessary. The two of us cannot wait to start building our dream home, although I am sort of gleeful to find out more creepy things about this seasoned cabin.
