Nigh on three months ago, the recording company I use for my live show decided to pack up and switch studios. We had become so famous we had outgrown the old one, so our producers thought it was finally time for a better studio. Let me tell you, if you think moving your apartment is hard, it’s even tougher moving the props and sets of many shows, all for the same streaming network. It took several weeks just to finish the move, and another long three weeks to get everything ready to go. We had to be careful not to lose any props during shows, and we were not without our blunders here. But it was so worth it because of the new studio’s awesome air conditioning! This decked out new studio has truly incredible HVAC piped into every room of the studio, even the control rooms are kept under climate control. Not only does this help keep our equipment nice and cool, but it also helps us actors and interviewers to do our jobs with more energy. We don’t need to take as many breaks to commercial to cool down and get a glass of water or run to somewhere with a window A/C unit. You’re always told in this business that it’s not a bed of roses, its part of acting. However, being comfortable lets us focus on our lines and our jobs so much more vigorously than ever before. Even the producer has noticed that we need far fewer takes. Thanks to the central A/C in the new studio, we’re at peak efficiency.
