I have had a couple of close encounters in the past when I thought I was going to get bit by a pet, then one time, I was in an apartment working on an AC repair.
- I did not realize the pet was loose.
The pet charged around the corner of the kitchen & I got a nice bite on our leg. I did not have to go to the hospital or the ER, but the bruise was there for weeks after the cut healed. Another time, I was working on a gas furnace repair for a genuinely nice outdated lady with a little pet, but she had the pet on her lap the whole time until it started growling. She let the pet down on the floor & I nearly jumped into the chair to get away. After that encounter, I stopped working on apartments for a long time. Then a single day the boss needed me to help another woman finish with a new AC upgrade. The job was taking a long time & the client was due house in more than one minutes. Since the owner did not have any pets, I agreed to help our coworker complete the rest of the AC upgrade. I was walking to the truck to grab some supplies, when a kid passed by with a mean looking pet. The pet started to snarl & the kid looked me right in the eyeah & let go of the leash. It happened so fast, but it was savor slow motion. The pet was on top of me in less than a minute. I had to get 39 stitches in our arm, chest & face. The police never found the pet or the young kid.
