You know, I have heard a lot of people complain about the smell that a furnace makes when you first turn it on in the winter. Obviously, that smell comes from the dust and cobwebs that the furnace burns when you first turn the HVAC unit on after a long time of not using it. However, have you noticed that nobody ever complains when they turn their air conditioner on for the first time? Even if they complain about having to install the air conditioner if they have a window air conditioner, once they turn it on, it feels like they are in heaven. Unlike furnaces, air conditioners don’t have a smell when you first turn them on. All you have to do it plug the air conditioner in and enjoy the nice cool air that your air conditioner is making! Sometimes, you might have to clean the air filter in your air conditioner, but that is the most maintenance that you will have to do to your air conditioner to get it ready to be turned on. Even though you could argue that furnaces are more necessary to humans than an air conditioner, we would probably all agree that air conditioners are the preferred HVAC unit. Honestly, my favorite day of the entire year is the day when I get to walk over to the thermostat and turn the air conditioner on to feel the nice cool air. My second favorite day is when I get to turn the furnace off. That should tell you that my air conditioner is my favorite HVAC unit.
