they haven’t been scared off

Time and time again I seem to not be able to help being socially awkward when strangers have to come to my house. I mean, take the HVAC repair companies for example. Firstly, I should mention that I have used the same heating and cooling repair company for years, and the same guy shows up every time. So why I feel all weird about letting him into my house, I have no idea. I just can’t seem to help it. At this point, he knows I’m nice, but in the beginning, at our first appointment where he had to come to my house to service my heating and cooling system, I am fairly certain he thought I was really strange. He was nice enough not to say anything, but there was a certain look on his face. I really try not to feel awkward when I answer the door to let in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning guy, but it just kind of comes out… I suddenly don’t know what I should do and for some reason my feet stop responding normally. Such a mess. This is exactly why I have started insisting that my husband stay home to wait for the HVAC company instead of me. He is so much better at these things. I’m sort of giving up a day off, although I haven’t ever gotten much done on those days anyway, but honestly I think it is worth the hassle. I really like our heating and cooling company, and though they haven’t been scared off yet, I think it best to keep my distance so they don’t get any ideas…
