Tree roots damaged ductwork

I don’t understand why the coldest room in our house is the bathroom.

  • When the air conditioner is on, the bathroom is always extra cold.

It’s not fun to get out of the shower and get hit by a blast of freezing cold air. The temperature is different in the rest of the house, as well, with some rooms being warmer than others. I’ve tried to ignore this air conditioning issue for a long time but recently the air conditioner has stopped blowing in the bedroom at all. Finally, I decided to call an air conditioner repair company. The air conditioner company looked over my A/C system then they went under my house and looked at the ductwork. The air conditioner technician explained that tree roots had gotten into the ductwork and this was messing up the air flow throughout the house. Apparently the bathroom is the first place that the ductwork reaches and that’s why the bathroom is always so cold. On the other hand, my bedroom is sealed off from getting any cold air at all. The technicians repaired and replaced all of my duct work. It cost me quite a bit of money and it took them several hours. But now my whole house is cool and comfortable. The bathroom is no longer freezing cold either. I guess I’ll have to have the tree cut down that is causing all of that trouble though. I don’t want it to get into the duct work again. I can only imagine that it’s also damaging my plumbing too. That will be another expense.
