Unloading the window a/c

The best things in life aren’t free; I always have been expecting that the largest blessings will flow somehow into our life free of charge since hearing that old proverb as a kid, however, while this has been on a number of occasions, such as the time that the most wonderful pet in the world stumbled into our yard, there have been far more examples where this hasn’t exactly worked out for the best. I mean, no one would think a couch infested with fleas to be “the best thing” in life, even if it was pulled off a curbside, and similarly, I don’t think anyone would say for a single minute that a major house fly infestation is reasonable of the blessing of a totally free A/C unit… Everything went downhill on the day that I was driving through some back alleys to school & saw an old window A/C component sitting outside next to a big garbage bin. I pulled over & loaded the giant air conditioning unit into our car, expecting to have a wonderfully nice night of sleep once the cooling plan was up & working; What I didn’t expect was for a family of big black flies to have taken residence inside the air conditioning! Whenever I turned on the little unit & adjusted the onboard thermostat down to 74 degrees, a giant swarm of sizable black flies came shooting out from the air vents, riding the prominent flow of the cool air as it came through. I spent the next 2 weeks hunting annoying & dirty flies in our house, but at least the air was cool & comfortable for our fly invasion.
