I’ve been helping my sister and brother in law rebuild their house – and their lives – for a year. See, when the hurricanes came up over the Summer and hit the gulf, it hurt countless people. Many around here lost their homes, and some even lost their lives. As challenging as it was for my sister’s family to come back home after the storm only to find their home wrecked, I was quick to tell them that they still had each other – they had survived. I’m a real optimist like that. Anyway, I happen to have made a lot of connections over the years while working as an electrician, and I’ve worked alongside a myriad of contracting firms that provided services including plumbing, reconstruction, demolition, and even HVAC related services. This one contractor named John was one of the best people I’ve ever met! Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable with all things pertaining to HVAC, but he’s very modest with his pricing and will work with just about any client to make sure they can afford his services. When I told John about what my sister and brother in law were going through, he was distraught over their tragedy and truly wanted to help any way he could. He insisted I introduce him to them, and upon meeting, he soon offered them a wide range of services to help with rebuilding their lives. He said they could go with a central forced-air system like before, or they could try using an air source heat pump to cool their house in a more efficient way. Additionally, he even offered to let them borrow several window-mounted air conditioning units for use until the HVAC system was installed. There’s so few contractors as kind-hearted as John, and I know my sister appreciated his efforts greatly!
