I have been looking for a cheaper place to live near me. I live in a fairly large college town, which used to mean there was a lot of cheap housing ripe for the picking. Where there were college kids, there were cheap apartments. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. These days, rich corporations have purchased up all the land and built luxury apartments. I don’t actually consider them luxury due to the fact they only have 3 or 4 family rooms and a living room. Each family room costs more rent than I pay for my whole townhouse that I only share with one other person. They do have some things that are certainly nice, but the best in my opinion are the huge swimming pools and ultra-modern Heating as well as Air Conditioning systems. The cooling system in most of these new developments are designed with roommate life in mind. Usually, that means a smart thermostat because college roommates enjoy their apps that can control everything all in one place. It also means Heating as well as Air Conditioning zone control. With Heating and Air Conditioning zone control, the students can all set the thermostat to wherever they want it at. Every family room is a particular space in the Heating as well as Air Conditioning control system. I did recently see a new house complex gloating that they have even better cooling system for prospective student occupants. Instead of just one central cooling system component for the apartment, each family room has its own mini ductless air conditioner. I’m not sold on iif that’s better or not, but whatever attracts more students I suppose. I’m sure this is a reason why almost everyone graduates with way too much debt, my child lived in a n average off campus cheap house, with a window cooling system component she hated. but she has no student loans postgraduate.
