If we decide to go out of town, there is a getaway mode, but plus, the control unit sends me an text when it’s time to change the air filters, schedule preventative service or if there is a problem
When I started looking into a modern control unit, I was surprised by the improvement in the openings on the market, however my control unit was nearly twenty years outdated and nothing more than a plastic dial to adjust comfort levels. To raise or lower indoor temperature, I needed to manually set the dial. The 1 control unit determined the temperature for the entire house, and it wasn’t all that precise. I decided it was time for a modern control unit because I wanted both remote access and zone control. I knew these features would save a considerable amount of money on weekly utility bills and reduce the wear and tear on the gas furnace and cooling system. I could program the modern control unit to raise or lower the indoor temperature to conserve energy when I left for labor in the afternoon and not come back to an hot or freezing cold house. I liked the method of being able to make changes through an app on our smartphone or our laptop. I had no method that there were innovative and convenient features above and beyond WIFI linkivity. The control unit I chose is compact and beautiful with a touchscreen interface that guided me through the whole setup process, then for the first month after upgrade, the modern control unit kept track of any changes our family made and built a program accordingly! We honestly rarely need to make any type of adjustment. If we decide to go out of town, there is a getaway mode, but plus, the control unit sends me an text when it’s time to change the air filters, schedule preventative service or if there is a problem. If the indoor temperature should severely fluctuate, I get notified. The control unit also alerts our respected Heating and A/C contractor and the concern can often be solved through remote diagnostics.
